Exclamation DRIVE SHAFT LOOP PROBLEMS

I ordered in a BMR drive shaft loop and i went to install it and the mounting bracket would not bolt up to where it was supposed to so i called Dennis at BMR and sent him some picx and he emailed back and said that mine is the 3rd
different crossmember that they have seen on the Shelby's now
so before you order one take a look at the back of your crossmember and take a pic so you can get the right one

my crossmember is not straight across the bolts like my bracket is, Dennis said that they are going to re-engineer the bracket so it can fit more than one type

i will post pics as soon as i smash the crap out of my puter

lazy sob

If the next one dosent work, try the Steeda. I put one on around my one piece DS, I was done in less than 10 minutes, no issues.

I have the BMR loop set. I had no issues with the front, but on the rear one I had to use some spacers as it was rubbing. I called BMR and they suggested I use the spacers, which I had already done. Obviously with the stock driveshaft this would not have been an issue...you mix parts and you have issues.

Even now with it "fixed" it will touch if I jack up the rear of the car anywhere other than the rear end...but that should be rare and I can be careful.

what DS are you runnin...that was one thing we looked at closely while in the air at Evo doin the headers. suspension unloaded, we re-installed the rear loop and had about a 1/2 or so clearance...no spacers....but i can see those aiding in better clearance for the lower cross bar..

3.5" aluminum from Evo.

Are you lowered? I'm stock height all around...which may be another factor.

then you should not be hitting at all..i wasn't...then i lowered with FRPP Handling Pack, and still have clearance...its reduced...but not hitting...only thing that was after the headers was the exh pipes were hitting the nuts, so i inverted the bolts..clear now...

Don't know what to say. I do hit if I let the rear end hang.

It appears if your car is not lowered and your spring rate is softer, since it's OEM, then the rear end and drive shaft are already closer to the rear loop and should travel further down when unloaded due to the softer spring rate.

I don't understand. When you unload the rear end by letting it hang, the springs have nothing to do with how far down it goes....they are not being utilized when the rear end is hanging loose. As a matter of fact, the only thing holding the springs in the car is the shocks at that point.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying...probably am since Joe says I'm a dufus.
