I stopped by the shop today to see the progress on my car...NONE! I saw my baby sitting outside all by itself. I spoke to the Service Writer, We'll still call him Richard, even though I have seen a paradigm shift in his service and attitude since this whole TSB event has started. I asked him how it was going. He said all the parts were in except for the Clutch assembly, it had to be ordered from the vendor. I immediately filled with terror because I am way to familiar with the "Just In Time" when dealing with...well you know...uh U.S. Military Helicopter parts... let’s just say the sandbox gets them first ![]() Oh well back on track, Richard said the clutch would be in tomorrow morning first thing and the tech would get started on the TSB. ![]() Now for the really important stuff. As I drove away, I approached a huge Black cloud full of something my car has not seen...RAIN! I have been a basket case all day knowing my car has been sitting outside getting soaked...Good news I guess is that it's not being driven in the record breaking downfalls ![]() I spent the rest of the day visiting and getting caught up with some much needed computer file management trying to keep my mind off the rain. ![]() After catching up with the file management I read through JT's TSB thread to see how SNK had made out with his TSB. Once again I picked up some pointers from my read. I gave the Service Manager a call just to say hi, and thank him for taking good care of my car. We chatted for a while and found out how things went down for this TSB to get done on my car. Turns out the tech had driven the car and was not able to find anything outside the "Normal Characteristics" of the clutch and tranny. After hearing this the Service Manager himself took the car for a ride, brought it back and told the tech he had trouble getting the car into 3rd gear several times (consistent with Richards comments yesterday afternoon) the Service Manager then instructed the tech to do the TSB in it's entirety. It appears that extra time spent building the relationship with the Service Manager, not being a Richard myself, and having the background TSB knowledge from the Mafia, provided some degree of success to this event. I also asked the Service manger if he could take some Photos as the job was being completed and he said that wouldn’t be a problem, he also stated that he will have the tech hold the parts so I can see them when I return for the car. So Far So Good I guess Another update tomorrow

Once I arrived at the shop, I was told by richard that my Clutch "Did Not" come in as I was told earlier. My car was on the rack, the tranny was out and the tech was working on the tranny re-build. The clutch should arrive within a day or 2. ![]() some pix ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

That sucks that people can't get parts orders straight.
![]() Not sure I would want a dealership tech rebuilding my tranny, but I guess it would be better than it was. ![]() .

Further, they should be able to give you a delivery date for the Clutch. "A day or two", is a little vague when it comes to logistics. Hang in there and you are wise to be phoning and showing up to check the progress if you are not completely sure of this Dealer as you are sending the message that you're a customer that is going to make sure this is done right! Hang in there.

yes it is
The further down this road I get, it seems to get worse...started out well I'm concerned because my Tech has never seen the inside of this tranny and has never been trained on this TSB. I have aske the Service Mgr about it... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Again, we all look for the pro to do our work, but in the end we are at the mercy of the dealer and his team. Anything they do will be covered under warranty, and having the TSB done and on record is your insurance policy. Anything crops up, take it back, but rest assured it will be done JUST FINE. This is not brain surgery, it is a car, with a trans, and whether a GT500 or a GT or a Mustang, parts is parts. No worries... let them do their job!

you are aboslutely correct, Princess told me the same. We are an annal bunch. I'm not surprised, I deal with the same thing on a regular basis, I just needed to put things in proper perspective. I trust it will be done correctly...I often have higher expectations when it comes to getting parts...
