So far it works very well. The GPS seems to be very accurate the laser has gone off many times and I never got stopped. I have no way of telling if it is actually "shifting" or 'defusing" the beam unless I ask the cop who pulled up behind me and blasted me with laser one time. LOL
I use the false alarm marking feature on routes I travel on and it has worked well.
I also have used the radar trap marking feature as well and it worked great.

It automatically turns down the volume of the alarm which I like very much.

Overall it is quite easy to operate especially in the location I have the control.

I'm very happy with it.

thanks - I have the 9500i and love the GPS feature too. I want to get it out of the window though and we are starting to see more laser here so I need to start looking into some more defense for that.

You pick up laser, but you can't block laser.


Laser is instant on, by the time you pick it up it's too late. If you have the laser blocker it gives you a few extra seconds to slow down before he gets a reading. Unless he is right on top of you?

Is the 9500ix a better unit than the 9500i?

I think the only difference is the cost and the color of the display. They detect laser but do not shift/block it and honestly in mine it's not really good at detecting laser from what I have seen.

Laser though the cop can not use while driving. They have to be stationary and can't go through a window either I don't think unless they are getting better.

I think the lasers are used by our motorcycle cops that sit on the side of the road.
