Ipod In The GT500
Well I done it!!!
I solved the problem on how to mount my Ipod in my car so I can operate it while driving. I made this out of 1/8" plastic I got at tap plastics. It took me about two hours to build. I glued it together with super glue. I used my scroll saw to cut the plastic. I will probably make another one as this one has some scratches in it. I'm sorry I didn't take photos while I was making it but I think that you can see what I did. Here are the photos

Man allot of you on here are so mechanically creative... Anything I create has to be consumed or refrigerated within 4-6 hours... Looks cool by the way

Good job....I wonder what it would look like with the ambient lighting behind it. Now what are you going to do for a cup holder for your water bottle? I think if you move the holder part back towards the arm rest, you would get the funtionality back of your forward cup holder.

one easier way I made this work is to put a piece of velcro on the back of the unit and one the console by the e-brake. this would make it easier to move when, and if, need be. ot's also out of the way and I can use my cup holders....
there's more than one way to skin a cat. SLC

The prototype turned out ok but far from perfect. I am going to make another one today hopefully it will be better.
As for the cup holder since the wire for the connection is in the top makes it harder to move back much farther but I will look at that today. Only thing I use my cup holder for is my phone and garage opener I dont drink or eat in my car. As a matter of fact I try not to eat in any of my fleet vehicles. As for selling them I dont know Not much of a seller. If I could make them so they would look nicer then maybe I had to do something so I could use my ipod so it would be out of the way It took me 3 years to figure it out.

I made some modifications to my holder.
Vapor Dude had a great Idea so I changed my design now you can use the front cup holder. My photos stink but I think you get the idea It also fits in the back pocket just don't sit down. I am not sure that super glue is the way to go. If I get this perfected how many of you would want one? Probably stepped in it with that last question.
