Shelby Gauge Pod Install

Begin with installing gauges in gauge pod, wire harness to gauges. All connections were soldered and wrapped in heat shrink.





Next you have to cut the wires for the fuel pressure sensor, you need to do this to be able to snake these wires through the firewall. Besides this harness is about 30" too short, I had to splice in additional wiring to make it work.

Above the gas pedal on top of the firewall is a small opening, you need to snake a wire through this opening, and pull it out between the windshield and the back of your dash. Then connect all the wiring from the pod to the wire you just snaked through, and pull the wiring down behind the dash.

Snake wiring through firewall, and out opening at bottom of firewall in engine bay. Wires that come out are fuel pressure, oil pressure and boost hose.


Connect wires for power, one goes to light switch one to main harness.


Assemble oil pressure manifold, FP manifold adaptor.

Install FP manifold adapter, connect boost line. Wiring supplied for FP was way short, I added about 30" of wiring to make it work.


Next was the worst part of the install, oil pressure, you have to remove the old sending switch from above the oil filter, damn near impossible to get to. Install it on the new manifold.

Then install braided oil line where old sending unit was, took me about an hour just to thread this line on.

Then attach wiring to oil pressure switch on new manifold, and attach manifold to the power steering lines. Clamps supplied were too short, it is attached temporarily with zip ties, i'll make my own clamps.

That's a joke the wire not being long enough in the Shelby kit, as they know perfectly well it is too short from installing these clusters on SuperSnakes.

+ 1, $700.00 for the kit and you would think they would give you a long enough set of wires.

Well done Rags! I've considered adding gauges, but my boost still is under the factory gauge limit, so that would be unnecessary at this time.

What about the pillar pod gauges, has anyone installed them and are they easier to install?

Dave, I would think the wiring is done the same way, believe it or not there is plenty of room between the dash and the winshield from pillar to pillar. If i remember speed of sound website has install instructions for the pillar pods.

Nicely done Rags. I've done the pillar version with AEM gauges. I've never had good luck with Autometer. Wiring goes through the same rubber gromet near the clutch pedal.

Speed of Sound has the Pillars: Speed of Sound gauge pillars, pods, and switch panels for the Ford Mustang

AEM Digital Gauges: AEM UEGO Wideband O2, Water/Meth Injection, EMS, V2, Cold Air Intakes, Brute Force Intakes, AEM Gauges and Electronics

I believe Jared at Lethal Perf also has the Pillars and Summit has the gauges.
