Shelby interior upgrade $1,999 installed

So I was looking over at the Shelby store and came across something pretty cool. It is an interior upgrade for our cars new seats etc including embroidered emblems... I was actually pretty surprised I don't know how much interiors cost but it seemed reasonable at Shelby standards for 1,999 installed .. You can actually get it for 1800 right now with their 10% off coupon.. I like the fact I can get my interior in 2 tone with blue inserts etc... I am just curious about the airbags in our seats? Also like how the seats look sportier.. This is a mod I am seriously considering... Any thoughts... Anyone else get or considering it?

I don't care for the stitched headrests. Wonder if you could get colored inserts from an upholstery shop for a lower cost.

I wouldn't worry about airbags...I'm sure they keep those operating correctly.

Yes and it is updated on your car in the Shelby registry as well... To me not too bad considering we pay $400 for a small dash plaque

I am shocked that these are available, I always thought that these interiors were reserved for the CAI specials like the Super Snakes and 40ths, a lot of owners of these cars must be pissed now that these kits are readily available.

They are very cool kits but for 2k???

I would have to see them in person before I could say if I like them or not. Fit ,finish and quality of material is as important as design.

I do agree that the price is fair for what you get. I don't like the headrests though.

Gary (gem427) had some custom leather seat inserts and door panel inserts done on his car. Perhaps he'll see this thread and post up pics and coent on the pricing. I have no idea what his cost but it looks really cool (it's a faux snakeskin look.

Does the vehicle need to got to SAI to have this done?


A local friend has his GT500 there for the SS conversion. Its been there for 8 weeks, He was called yesterday and was told they had a few issues, it'll be closer to 10 weeks. Might be a little more than that.

No, its in Vegas. They told him, she'd be ready the end of May, now it'll be mid June.

That is the SAI way. Get your car and keep it hostage for half it's life. That is one thing to consider on the interior upgrade as well. How long will they keep the car? Plus you have to get the car to SAI and back. That is another whole process and expense incurred. You could end up paying a total of $4-6K for a $1800 upgrade.

they have a registered vendor in Florida that can do the interior upgrade according to Shelby....I did not ask where it is at...but I guess the approved interior guys are a little more abundant nationwide? I would like to see one in person as I have seen the headrest covers and stuff and they dont match the interior so I would want to make sure that these would match 100%.

I looked at these a while back as well. I have often regretted not having the two tone interior and this is a tempting package despite the cost(and that the money goes to that company that shall not be named.) I agree with Birdie though the big factor is how they look installed. I would be very interested to see some comments and posts from people who have gone the custom route. That might be a better alternative since a local shop gives you more of a chance to check them out and monitor install. Never had a custom interior though so I have no idea what's involved.

I was one of the first to have this done. The 40th in the Shelby Store pic is my car. I also have a shot of the seats in my sig. I'm really happy with it. I always liked how a Red Stripe vert with red inserts kinda carried the stripes thru the car. I wanted to do the same with the Silver.

I'ver ordered mine with the perforated Grabber Orange inserts. The installer is in Atlanta, GA. About 4 weeks until install day!!! Will post pics when it's done.
