Maybe you touched on it, but what are you planning to do about the annoying rattles on the outside of the car should there be any?

With that sound system I bet you won't be able to hear any sounds coming from outside the car.

I'm going to wait and see what develops in that area. Right now I don't think there is going to be much with all of the Stinger roadkill that we placed every where. I'm really hoping that takes care of most of the vibrations.

That's an option but an ugly one! :trouble-1:

I'm not going for all out volume, I'm really wanting a good tight bass with very clear sound and overall a musically clear system. I want to enjoy the music and not go totally deaf. lol

We are trying to run this all off of one 4 channel amp. That will be pretty cool if we can pull this off on basically 300 watts.

LOL, I noticed that already. Road noise I'm thinking will be non-existant and even pulling next to loud cars at stoplights might be interesting. I'm really looking forward to it being quite on long road trips so that you can easily converse with your passneger for those times that you have to talk and can't listen to the super charger whine!

Well it's almost a completely finished product! I picked it up tonight as he's waiting form some more parts to come in next week. One of the new door speakers was defective from the factory and they are shipping new ones out but they won't be here til next week.

My first observations:

1. Road noise is now non-existant! It's very quite. You can still hear the engine if the stereo volume is not up really loud! But cruising down the freeway it's now very nice inside with only some wind noise.

2. This stereo kicks some serious butt. It's definately very clean sound without the over the top bass. I wanted some good tight bass that makes you enjoy listening to it. That's what I got.

I'm sure it's going to sound even better once the replacement speakers come it.

I really like the clean look in the trunk. I lost some trunk space but not enought to really worry about.

Here's some pics.

Thank you!

He told me that he is also changing out some of the RCA's and wiring so it will all be the same color. I have to dust it off still as I didn't notice how much was on the woofers when I took the pics.

The trunk enclosure is all in suede and so is the new headliner and rear deck. Pics just don't do it justice.

Well I have changed some more stuff in the Stereo area. The one amp that we were running just wasn't enough. I just changed it out for the ARC Audio KS 900.6 Arc Audio

Made some changes to the trunk area of the amp rack. I think there is more that we are going to do eventually. Even put a little back lighting in the amp rack. Going to change it out for a red one eventually.

So we are still running only one amp but now I'm running 550 watts to just the subs. We added some sound deadener to the door panels themselves as I was picking up some vibrations. Now the only thing you hear in the door is the movement of the plastic barrier that comes from the factory once in awhile. Usually only in very strong mid-bass situations from the 8" speakers in the door. We are thinking of removing that liner too.

We also changed out the door speakers as I was not happy with the set that we had put in. Much better now. It is also RTA tuned now and the difference in audio quality is amazing.

That is one big project. What kind of sound deadening material are you using? The road are junk around here and I was thinking of doing the same thing to mine. Good luck and I hope it turns out the way you wanted.

Stinger Road Kill was the material that we used. It's pretty much done right now. I have a few more littel things that we are going to do in the future but it's up and running.

Thanks George. I'm really happy with the sound quality too. I showed a few people the system at Grabber's bash and I think they were all impressed.
