Brighter Headlights

Which headlight bulbs are being used to upgrade to brighter bulbs?

I thought they were Ultra Silverstars by Sylvania, but what I got at the local parts store doesn't say anything about 'ultra' on them?

These were the brightest they said they had?

I tried the Sylvanias on the truck & while they were a lot brighter, they didn't last very long (less than a year). After I converted the GT to HID, I saw a show that was talking about the Philips Night Guide head lights.

My wife really liked the light from the HIDs, but she didn't like the price, so I looked into getting a set of these. I could only find them online, but they were only $30 delivered. These are lights are great. My wife is much more comfortable driving at night now that she has these. Had the HIDs not been available for my car, I would've gone with these instead.

I don't know enough about the HID conversion and if they run much hotter I would be afraid they would affect my headlamp tint.

I'm just trying to brighten the light so as not to be an issue w/ inspection...I hope.

When I drive at night, I leave the lights off anyways. That way the cops can't see me...

The HIDs are supposedly cooler running since they do not draw as much power as the halogens. I'll be adding the headlamp tint in the next couple weeks.

They all have night vision goggles now.

And heat sensing devices.

So to be truly invisible, you need an ice suit and just coast.

I went back today to ask about the ULTRAs.

He said they are not available in the style to fit Mustangs yet.

He said they may be available directly from Sylvania though.

They are a little brighter than the Silverstars that I have, but I'm putting these in this week.

Torch red coupes are so fast that I am catching up w/ the lights, hence the need for brighter/farther lights. :trouble-1:
