Default Shelby Engine Caps

I bought a used set of these and they come with no instructions. They look like they just fit over stock caps. Is there anything that needs to be done to make them fit? I have not tried them yet, just thought I would ask first.

I assume you have the billet aluminum caps available on the Shelby Autos site.

One thing I noticed on mine was some of the caps, particularly the radiator caps, did not fit snugly over the stock caps. To rectify this, I wrapped a layer of tin tape around the stock caps and then pressed the billet cap over the top. This snugged up the caps nicely.

I have some of that tape. I may try that! Thanks!

I have thm on my car - fel fr t giv m a call if you want.

Biggest tips are:

1. For brake fluid cap pull the liner ut of the stock cap to re-use
2. Use a good amount of silicne for the 2 rad. caps and oil caps as they are covers.
3. Don't us the power steering cap - if you do keep an eye on it for the pepto issue
4. Rake a good look at the oil dipstick and decide if you want it....it gets really hot (they all do) when driving and it is not fun to grab to check oil after that Als IMO it is too large so I went back to stock on that and the power steering.

They sure sound like a nice item. I like the Shelby Snake logo on the cap , but thought it was a one piece item...cap and all. Didn't realize there were caps. Anyone have the VMP caps with the stripes. Are these covers as well ?

i had the shelby caps at first. had no issues with them. If there is no hole in the top of the steering cap, then its good to use. That cap was redesigned and issued out because of the hole (water settling on the top and seeping in). I didn't use anything for the two rad caps. Though they fit a little loose, they never came off while driving.
