Skaggs is good, but the best mandolin player is David Grissman.

The Rockgrass festival is in my back yard. Brought to you by the same people that do the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, with many of the same groups.

Bluegrass music is my favorite, and rightfully, the subject of another topic.

BG isn't a fave but I do enjoy it from time to time.

I grew up listening to Emmylou Harris. She has one sweet voice. Now Allison Krauss has the voice of an angel.

Listen to the sound track of O Brother Where Art Thou. That movie shares an attribute of Blues Brothers - both were somewhat lame scripts wrapped around world-class music. Bluegrass and Blues, respectively.

Years ago, I managed to find a copy of something called "down from the mountain" its a vhs copy. Basicallly its a docu / concert film of the music from the movie "Oh Brother where art thou"

Another one I like is Richie Blackmore. I have always like his music from the days in Deep Purple then on to his solo career and then on to his last one Blackmore's Night. I like this song from him.

For being able to play the most range of different Guitars it would have to be Steve Howe. I've seen him play 8 or 9 different guitars in a set.

There are alot of good names mentioned here for alot of different reasons and alot of different genres. That is why I didn't narrow it down to one specific genre.

I want to mention our very own ShelbyFestGuy, yep Kyle Caraway. He is in a group called Blues DeVille and plays in the Columbia/Jefferson City area. They play an assortment of rock and blues type music. Kyle goes between 2-3 guitars in his gig. He is actually a good singer.
