Hey everyone. I am looking at purchasing a set of SS Alcoas for my car. Any info on what the widest size tires I can run front and rear with out problems? What are my options as far as who I can get them through? I have also read some of the threads about people having issues with bad wheels. Any help is appreciated.

Are you talking about 20" wheels?

I think that is what Mastersmech put on his car and had fitment problems until he changed tires.

I'll PM him since he's busy on the Aveo Performance site....

I am wanting to put the 20s but I would like to fit a 305/25/20 tire on the rear and at least a 265 on the front.

You can't do that with Alcoas.

20" Alcoas are available from Shelby, the Super Snake Center Caps are not unless you spend $28K convert your car to an SS.

Alcoas wheel sizes are 20 x 9 F, 20x 10 R.

I downloaded the Shelby parts catalog and it says they are available. I just saw the recomended sizes for the tire on the wheel description. Guess I should look closer next time.

There tons of threads regarding the 20" Alcoa's on various sites.
The offset is wrong and the Supersnakes use a NARROWER (275!) tire than a stock GT500. If you go wider, the tire will stick out past the fender, and if you lower the car at all, it will rub. Just a bad idea.

I had 20" Alcoas on the rear with the FRPP suspension and 305/35/20 tires. It looked great but scared me to death with the clearance. My wife took it for a short run up the road and brought it back with tire rub on the fender. It didn't go out again until the 275/35/20 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's arrived. Best tires I've ever had by the way. The ride is better with these tires than with the stock 18's.

My car is lowered, no issues, so are most SS.

I think if you try to over spec the wheel with a tire that is not-recommended there will be issues. Stay within spec and keep smiling.
