My new FR500 custom 18's

There is a 40%threat of rain today so I chose not to take it to have it corner balanced today but I pulled it out of the garage long enough to take these pics.
I am very happy with the new look ,it's what I've been looking for since day one.
18" X 9" front
18" X 10" rear
Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar tires with 180 tread wear (same as 08-09 KR )
255 45-ZR18 front
285 40-ZR18 rear


Notice anything new about my car in these pics besides the wheels ? ( clic on banner's to enlarge )

The wheels look great.


Saw an 09 KR at the dealership while I waited. Nice one. Black with flat black stripes...............really digging those flat black stripes..............also loved the wheels on it.

By the way...........nice rotors............got to install mine. Dealer wanted to charge for a full brake job (HA) and said, "these make some noise, you may want to consider that". I think he's full of bull, plus, i blare my radio so I can't hear anything anyways.

How are these wheels custom? Are these wheels not an FRPP parts catalog item?

Did your use spacers on the fronts to clear the Brembos?

The signal lights look great! Are they clear or smoke?

The wheels look awesome. They really change the look of the car. What's the finish on them? Is it bead blasted?

They do not make them in silver only chrome, smoked chrome and black with polished edge. I had to paint them myself to get this finish. (seems nothing is ever easy )

No spacers needed, yes they clear the front brakes.

Signals are clear but they do offer a light smoked version. The bulbs actually light up amber but are silver when they are off.

If I recall properly, he had those a while back (made them himself to get bigger airflow).

Thanks Jon,after lots of taping and priming 4 -5 coats of straight silver base coat (except on polished area )and 4 coats of clear coat dupont automotive paint over everything.
A lot of work sanding in between etc.

It really looks good. I am toying with the clear turn signals idea too. I like the look you have a lot. Rims look fantastic! Your car really sits nice and looks fast in the pics. The blue paint grows on me more every time I look at it too.

I'll be eager to hear your thoughts on the tires once you get out and really test them.

Ice, I'm thinking of changing our "School Bus" signals too.

This dude changed his to the Smoke Coloured ones which look good too.

both are nice. Lambo has a sharp roll bar in his now too. I am shocked he's not over here to be honest. His car is beautiful.

I fear putting too much dark stuff on mine being black I don't want it to be too much darkness (if there is such a thing). I put clear lenses on my jeep (project XJ in the ice house forum) and it really cleaned up the look but I didn't use the nice silver bulbs like this. I would on the GT500 though.

I think either would be good and certainly an improvement over the stock unit. I am leaning to the clear ones right now only because I doubt I'll tint the rest. I would like to get the HID fog lights done too though. The list seems to get longer the more I do.

I know Gary (gem427) has a setup for the HID fogs that his shop has built. I'll see if I can get some more info on that. They've also got an interesting hood pin set that I think is really neat (I'm hoping to have some literature on it for SF maybe).

Congrats on your new wheels they look great! It's funny how simple wheels can make a car look so much better. I like how they put a bigger lip on back wheels which makes them look wider than 10".

Let us know how the F1's work out, I've never been a fan of oem goodyear tires from my 95gt to my 99cobra to my 03cobra or 07shelby but I'm sure these are a huge step up better be for the price! eeeks!
