Widening back rims

I have a 2007shelby gt and want to know if anyone knows of a place that would widen a stock wheel (only needing back two) here in Kansas City Mo? Or would it be in our best interest just to buy the 2 wider stock wheels? What we found to be about 200.00 a piece.

I would buy a set of wider rims as stock OEM parts. With all the BS I just had with after market rims, I just think if you are going to do it, get it done as close to perfect as you can. Rims are not something to mess with, more so having some hack widen them. After all, they are all that rides between you and the road! Stay safe and good luck.

Tell us more. Are these for your GT500? Stock wheels? What are you widening them to? Other details?

Its a Shelby Gt...not a 500. Yes the stock wheels. Looking for about a 9.5 or 10 . What do you have?

Dave, I bought 2 new 'stock' wheels from Blue Oval Ind. and had them sent directly to Weldcraft.

They are widening them to 11".

I faxed the order form to them.

They have been great to work with, they even called today just to give me an update.

If I ever get to drive my car again these will be for around town so I have some traction hopefully.

Still not sure what I will put on them.

Probably the M&H tires unless I can figure out another good size tire that is sticky.

I really like the idea of an 11" rim...but I'm not real fond of the stock wheels...I'm thinking either the 2010 wheels or maybe a Razor. I also need to come up with some money to take this project on...we'll see how things go.

The only wheels I have been 'totally' sold on are the CCW's.

Only drawbacks are they are pricey, and Dgussin had told me before they are a pain to keep looking nice because they are highly polished.

His car was the first I saw them on.
