Oh How I Should Have Heeded the Warnings of Mr. T. Gun

So the last couple days, I notice some drip drip type stains under the very front lip of my new 2009 AWD Cadillac CTS. Not a lot at all, mind you, but enough to notice.

For the record, I now have 300 miles on this vehicle, and bought it to try and do my part to get this economy going again. (And it was a really good deal!).

I start it up and drive it to work. In the parking garage, making the turns down the ramps, I get the unpleasant groaning sound that can only be the power steering having a problem.



So that is what is leaking.

Off to the dealer I go.

Needs a new hose, which they don't even have, and it needs to wait until Monday. I have plans to drive this vehicle to Tennessee next Friday to see my lady friend, who lives near Nashville.

I try and show the love to the American car makers and this is the thanks I get. Thank you GM. Tommy G. is laughing his you know what off.

The dealer has given me a free loaner for the weekend, which is some kind of Caddy crossover wagon, which is a bit too much like driving a hearse!

Sorry to hear that, I really like this car but the Quality Control at the factory seems suspect especially for GM's flagship brand.

Lurker, sorry about your bad luck. Sometimes I think when a car has a given problem, someone in that company should have to live with that defect to see what it feels like as a customer. Pick someone and JD will arrange for a cement P/S hose to be fitted.

I sent one of those to ford because the dealer I got my car from were idiots.
The paint on my car was suspect of damages and the oasis report confirmed it. Had a issue with bad customer service.
Dont hold back Lurker and give them both barrels for the money you paid for this car you deserve better.

On this glorious weather day, I took '07 red gt500 coupe #47 out of the garage and enjoyed a very nice drive. I feel better now. It is nice enough to put the windows down and the volume up.

I called the General Manager of the dealership, and I was actually impressed that he answered the phone, said he would look into it, and called me back very quickly.

He said if the part is not here tomorrow, he will take one off of one of the other cars on the lot, which is apparently a no no, but he knows I want to take my trip to TN on Thursday evening.

So we shall see.

One thing I learned is that the service manager over-promised. The part had only been shipped UPS ground! So there was no bloody way it was getting here from Lansing, Michigan when he said it would. That can be more frustrating than saying it could be three days, or whatever?
