Nope, I had 5 Expeditions in a row, NEVER had a door or rattle issue. The trucks (yea I know they are trucks) seem to be built much different than the SUV's. The door rattle seems to be only when you hit a bump, not a hard one, just a bump... on the highway it drives like butter. Every time I bring it up, everyone says "its a truck" no shit, but it is also a FX4 4X4, so what happens off road, you get to hear doors rattle the whole time? you would think they would be built like a TRUCK not like a can... ok, rant off.

This just doesn't sound right. I've had three F150's with 4-doors in a row and haven't ever experienced anything like this. I would be curious what the dealer says. I would also be curious if they would let you drive a Used F150 close to the same age and see if there is a difference.

I think if you move the stiker it will change the alignment of the door. I don't know how many miles you have on the truck but replacement would be the first think I would try.

Mine has 30k on it. It takes a pretty hard bump to make a noise so maybe SNK's issues are different. I will say that new it didn't make any noise.

It is entirely possible these bumpers get weak with age or use.

I just had to go out and look at my latches one more time.

I noticed something quite interesting. Adjacent the latch part of the assemble there is a rather large plastic mouth that slides over and captures the striker bar. It appears to be designed to hold the door in both the vertical or horizontal possible.

If this is worn or broken, that would give you one heck of a door rattle. It looks like it is a replaceable item.

That was my thought. If that plastic is not snug against the striker bar, that would create a significant jolt when bottoming out over bumps.

Worth looking at.

I agree, pisses me off to hear the thump over a bump... truck has 31K on it, 2007. I have never driven a close in year truck, but did take it to the dealer who stated they could not dup... imagine that.... I gave up as I figure I had time on the warranty.... once I get the GT500 back, the truck is going in LOL.

Wow, that is a GOOD point.... I see that same item on my doors. However, to have ALL four doors pretty much do that? I could see the driver side, most common one, but who knows. As I said, I took the back doors apart a few weeks ago, looking for like a loose speaker, or window rail, something. I even added some foam tape between the panel and the door, thinking it was hitting or rubbing, and nothing made a difference, and why I think the doors have some play.... So now I am wondering if Ford sells those plastic pieces that fit over the actual striker? Look like a cut up straw that slides over them, that would take up the play? Arg... I hate taking things to dealers for something like this, they never seem to find it or fix it.

Take some black electrical tape and place it on that platic piece and see if it snugs it up. If it does, then you know that piece needs to be replaced. It may take a couple of layers.

I also noticed this same latch and striker set up is on my GT500 Vert. It is probably the same part number.

Good idea. No time this past weekend, but I will work on taping or aligning the striker.
