Brand is fine. My issue is with the job loss here in the states. There are 100 people in Cleveland that will get a pink slip for Christmas 2008 because SPX chose to move production to China.
What they have done is created a small clean room in the Owatonna, Mn. plant for development of scan tools OTC LINK and shipped production to China. OTC started out as a family business many years ago in Owatonna and was purchased by SPX in a similar fashion to AutoXray. Unfortunately for the top brass, hard tools like pullers, sockets, jacks, strut tamers, etc. are not exactly high quality when made in China, or everything would be done there. As you can tell, I was not a popular Manager with the top brass. That is one of the reasons I started this company. I hope to be able to offer high quality products and services that are affordable, and American made......someday. It is not the big companies that end up paying for this move....it is you and me. Once their "package" runs out, and extended unemployment kicks in, you and I now pick up the tab while big companies continue to gain marketsahre and profits.......sound fair? Nope. Not to mention, the impact to an employee that has spent 20+ years of their life clocking in at the same timeclock, not missing a day of work, and giving their life to a company in OT.

SPX owns everything, or so it seems. They have been buying out competitors for many years, and I was a part of the "machine" until I couldn't take it anymore.

If I recall correctly, the 6000 would be more in line for a shop than home use. Granted, it has been 10 months since I have been there.
If you are not interested in prinitng data, customizing views, and purchasing the cables for all manufacturers, go with the one you listed. I would call to verify the cable provded fits the GT500, or you may have to buy that as well.

If the new tune is off either by having the mass air meter curve too high or simply too much fuel you will have a rich condition. Another thing that could cause a rich 'code 'condition would be a bad O2 sensor. My guess is it is probably in the tune. Question: Was it a "long range fuel rich " code ? If so it is probably in the aftermarket tune. |

Let me throw this out there. How often have you cleaned your JLT filter? I've had the rich condition - and even went into fail safe mode at one point. Cleaned up the filter with the K&N kit and problem solved.

??? So - you haven't cleaned it at all? Tell me you're joking.
Sure they last a long time, but you must clean them. I've cleaned mine twice already. Last winter and just last week. Get the kit - it's like $12 - and it works. You'll be amazed at how much comes out of that filter. Oil filters trap a load of crap - and it blocks the intake.
