Default Christmas Eve, 1914
Today marks the anniversary of the Christmas Eve truce in the trenches in No Man's Land, 1914. They put up a Christmas tree, exchanged toasts and even played soccer. Wikipedia suggests the event was repeated in Christmas 1915 and Easter 1916.
