40th GT500 SS

Spotted at our local cruise in this evening. Very nice 40th SS. He declined the hood and kept his stripes. Nice ride!

I took a few pics, but many came out blury. Hopefully we will see a new member soon to post some more.

What happens with the declined hood and SS stripe customers?

Do you have to still pay for the hood and stripes and you can have it shipped home as parts and they're yours to do with as you please or does Shelby keep the unused SS parts and give you an abatement?

looks like he declined the wheels too. COuld just be a KB car or is there something that makes it a SS?

Yeah it's the 40th with the TVS....no SS stripes or SSwheels

(correction ..looks like the TVS with the 605 tune)

This is a 40th Anniversary Edition TVS'd GT500SS complete with badging. That is where the razors came from. He was one of the first from what he said. Although he declined a few items like the hood and stripe changes, no discounts were given.

I forgot his screen name, but he apparently is on the darkside now and a former SU member.

I didn't want the black stripes on my blue car either that's one reason ( and there are many others) I didn't go with the SS package from the beginning.

The way I understand it is:
If you want the SS you have to get the hood and the wheels and the 3 black stripes.(and SS badging)
If you want the 40th you cannot get the SShood or wheels but you get 2 silver stripes.( and 40th badging)

all the striping was black..no matter the car color? thought they kept the same color pattern, just changed the design.

If you get the SS package it has to have the 3 flat black stripes. That was the big objection in the beginning when the SS package was on the drawing board. First Amy said you could keep your original colors then she changed it to flat black only.
Do you remember Coldwater's fight with Amy over this ?

It is definetly a TVS blower with the stock pulley..

(this one has a Metco pulley)

If he paid for the hood and has it even though it was not installed, he could make a fortune on Ebay or any of the non-SAI affiliated forums with it.

I can only imagine the commotion that would cause at SAI.

yea, i remember that. its a shame as the black would work on some, but not all.
