Default GT500KR and two Nissan GT-R's...

So this weekend I had nothing better to do and since I had nothing to mod on the car I decided to take a little trip down to the Ford dealer to pick up some oil and a filter since it is getting to be about that time again. On the show room floor at Beach Ford in VA Beach they had a Shelby GT500KR silver with blue stripes. While I could get close enough to look at the inside (it was on a roped off turn style thing slowly revolving) I will admit that it looked very nice. I wasn't sure if I would like the carbon fiber splitter, 18" Alcoa wheels and smaller spoiler. As it turned out it really does have a nice look to it overall and I definitely like the hood. I wish we could buy the hood but oh well. I also wish I could have seen the engine bay, but no biggie.

On another note, I swung by the local Nissan dealership today in VA Beach to see if they had any of the GT-R's. Well, they had two of them, a red one and a black one. I'll admit they look very nice in person, a lot better than the pictures I have seen. I know some people don't like the imports, but they have definitely come a long way over the last 20 years. Since I already got a GT500, if I was going to drop 80K on a new car, it would be a tough call between it, a KR and a Viper.

I know, I wasn't thinking this weekend. My camera was on the ship. I guess I need to start carrying it with me.

Arguably the Nissan GT-R is the best Sport Car in the World for the money. They're a technological Tour de Force.

The cars completely stock are dynoing over the factory BHP ratings.

Problem is it's Futt Bugly...

Here's one I saw at the airport.

The Japanese have never designed a great looking car, the closest they got was the nSX but that only had 275 BHP, nuff said...

I agree with you for the most part. The only car I really like style wise from Japan was the S2000...and I don't even like convertibles!

Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I did think the GT-R looked much nicer in person. A 2-D picture doesn't do it justice in my book. If it is any consolation, I alway thought the Viper was butt ugly. It wasn't until the recent generation of Vipers did I start liking them. Now a Ford GT on the other hand...ah, the most beautiful car out there.
