American Racing Headers, High flow cats and H-pipe

Just installed the American Racing Headers, High flow cats and H-pipe.

I'm told that my car is the first in the country to get the AR H-pipe.

Along with the KR mufflers, the system is just too loud for my tastes.

Notice in these pics at the discharge ends of the headers. Notice the cone in the middle where the pipes converge. They call this the firecone and is something that is unique to AR headers.

Are you going to dyno it after everything is installed to see what HP gain you got?

Had it dynoed at EVO Tuesday and tuned by John Lund.

Along with the exhaust, I had the TVS, CJ throttle body and MAF installed.

680 RWHP
652 RWTQ
15.7 Boost

How tough was the header install? It looks awfully tight.

Evo actualy did the install. I still have bad memories from when I installed headers in the 70's

They also installed the TVS, CJ TB and CJ MAF.

I had the Evo stage 2 before the above and had 556 rwhp - 564 rwtq.

Now.....680 rwhp - 652 rwtq.

Just too loud to tolerate. Sounded like a pro stock. Already sold the KR's to Dad's and installed the stock mufflers. At least I can drive it around town now. I'll leave the stock ones on until I find something better. The stock ones actually don't sound too bad.

Does the H pipe neck down to 2.5 inches or is it 3 inch all the way back. I also would like to know the cost. If you can post a sound clip that would be great. I have the AR headers and OR X and stock mufflers now due to loudness but I want a deeper growl.

Great to see the shot of those coil covers too; I am putting those on but had not seen any on a car yet, glad I decided to do them.

You (and your hands) won't regret that you had someone else put the headers on for you

What fuel rail do you have on the car? Is that the one from Evo that I have heard people talk about?

The H-pipe does neck down to 2.5"

John and Chef...The cost depends on what you have done (ie. headers, coated, high flow cats, H-pipe, installation, etc.). If you do all of the above you should be prepared to pay between $2,000 and $2,500. Best to shop around with the different vendors. John....if you just want to add the H-pipe, I suggest you call EVO and ask them. I don't know if they are available anywhere else yet.

I don't have a good sound clip. I have one from the dyno with the KR's that I'll post when I can figure out how to post it. I have a new camera that I haven't figured everything out yet.
