Boston Mike's exhaust is too quiet!!!!
I received one of the H-Pipe's from Wes and didn't immediately have the time to put in on my car, so I told Mike that if he wanted to try it on his car he could. We both have Ford Racing mufflers, I believe his are the SGT's and mine are the 5GT's which look very similar to one another. Well I finally caught up with him the other night and got to hear the car on the freeway. Now I don't think he went WOT, but just cruising it was still too quiet. I think it was louder with just the mufflers and the stock X-Pipe. I know some of you guys have done the H-Pipe with the KR mufflers and are thrilled, but I'm just not that impressed by the sound of the KR mufflers. I want something more aggressive than that. Might just have to cut the cats off the H-Pipe and see how that wakes it up.

Wow surprised. My KR's are kick ass. Maybe in a vert because you can hear more, but I LOVE the sound, WOT and just cruising. Good luck!

I love the sound of my frpp stingers and h pipe combo for sure... Was my car louder with the stock x and stingers it was slightly louder but to me it was not as mean sounding... Greg (darkside) got a chance to drive and hear the other day.... I would not be against removing my cats for a louder sound for sure... Especially here in fla but who sells catless pipes for our cars that will hook up to wes k h pipe.... I thinkbi might send wes k a pm to ask.....

Find a shop to cut the cats out and replace it with a straight pipe welded in it's place. That's pretty much the impression I got was it sounded good, deep tone, mean, but it was just quiet. I wish Monkey boy would jump in here and comment. Joe has heard my car and knows what it sounds like so me saying it's too quiet might only apply to me and Mike.....cause he's going deaf.

The hpipe hasn't made a significant difference in idle or cruising exhaust notes. I do notice it when I get up on it though, but still not as loud as your offroad pipe (cats still restricting flow on mine). The untrained ear (Beth) noticed a difference as well. If I ever get around to discussing the offroad X that Anthony is selling, maybe we can find out if there is an easy way to hook that up to the h. I have to also admit, that I have been having a few issues with a blockage in my left ear, so I certainly am not a great voice for sound right now. 14 laps in a NASCAR the other day certainly didn't help (I have my video, just have to figure out how to get it from the DVD onto here).

I don't know that we'd want to hack up the other O/R X pipe, but we could just cut the cats out of the already modified H-Pipe.

It sounds like you really want a loud exhaust on your car. Get the Kooks long tube headers, off road X and keep the 5GT mufflers. This will wake up the neighbors and give you a headache with drone in the first mile.
I have the H pipe on my car with the KR mufflers. I just love the way they sound when go WOT and for cruising, it is just right for me. There is no drone at all with my setup and I wouldn't change it for anything.

AR 1-7/8 longtubes w/catted x going into stock pipes and corsa muff..no drone, nice and aggressive while driving, shifting, but if i even hit it just a bit...nasty loud...maybe tomorrow, i'll pull a grabber vid for ya...
