Dead Pedal Installed

I got tired of that cheap excuse for a dead pedal that Ford gave us.
It's nothing more than a foam block.



So I installed this:





Now I actually rest my foot there.

I really like this mod!

I thought the installation was a pain on my first attempt since I had to get in these contorted positions to work the bracket onto the bolt and around the wire harness. I gave up since I was racing against a storm that was brewing here. Was about to send it back to SPP but decided to give it one more try.

On the second attempt it took me 20 minutes start to finish since I dressed the wire harness under the bracket and tucked the carpet under the pedal prior to tightening the bolt. I was sore for a couple of days afterwards though.

The pedal only came with two screws holding it onto the bracket; I didn't like that too much so went to ACE Hardware and got two more screws M4 x 8, 0.7 pitch (countersink type). I applied some medium strength loctite on the screws to help keep them in place. I certainly don't want these screws backing out and having to remove/re-install the pedal.

this is the same install as for the Steeda dead pedal - I put it in and the hod struts abut 1 week after buying the car as my very first mods. The dead pedal is not matching for the FT500 pedals but I didn't car. I like t positioning & support it gives you when not on the clutch. The install is easy but as mentioned you get into some funny bends and it helps to know what you are in for so you can know to position the carpet back prior to tightening things up.

We're set up to sell them directly as well, but need a minimum order first.


Anyone want one of these? Maybe I should start a thread on these and see if we can get a few people to buy them so we can get the discount?
