I had the same initial thought too, but after installing it and using it, I now feel it's just right. I don't rest my entire foot on it, just my toes. It is also very secure and designed like a racing pedal.

thats the one I have....the one that says gt500..I did not think I would like it..but it looks great with the black carpet under it...like it belongs...plus its practical and was a cake walk to install.
