i dont think there will an issue on stock hoods. they dont flex, expand/contract like aftermarket. Though for anyone willing to use these, i'd advise to remove the latch assy inside the base mount, before setting the hood pin in there, so it sits good and even. Keeping the latch in makes the hood pin sit a little at a slant. There is no margin for error. Close the hood only as it normally is. Dont put any excessive pressure on the hood. The adhesive backing will stick.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Keith it really seemed like a great solution to your hood lock situation. Now I'm rethinking if I want to go this route with the stock hood.

My stock hood, I have to slam shut (i.e. drop from the elevated level) for the double latch to catch). So far, no one has told me that is abnormal. Do these pins replace the center latch or work in concert with it? I'm wondering if perhaps I have an issue with my current latch.

Let me know when to look on ebay!!!

I had to as well. Even with my FG one. The pins work inconjunction with the oem latch. The cables are actually attached to brackets which are added to the oem bracket. You will need hood struts if you dont already have them. The redlines i installed are awesome.

You could always adj your oem latch up a bit so no needing to slam. Just make good line marks across the top and sides before removing it. I did adj mine up a very slight amount. And you can always add the smaller bump stops at the corners like it did. It's all posted here.

But i dont think with the stock hood, there will be issues, but then i havent tested it on a stock hood. I honestly dont believe they'll flex or move around like aftermarket. Even though my FG is 10lbs heavier, it still flexes..

Guess someone else will just have to be the test mule for a stock hood.. i took care of aftermarket.

I've got the redlines that I hope to have put in this weekend (a stray dog sent them my way )

I'll have to search for your post on the latch.......glad to hear I'm not the only one. I may leave that for the experts to do (maybe whenever I get around to doing the TSB). I hope installing the redlines won't give me fits in closing the hood as it currently is. I may be the test mule for stock hoods as I love the look.

just make sure the hood is all aligned and closes the way you like BEFORE you start on the pin set.

Mine shuts pretty well. I usually push it shut rather than dropping it. Of course I have the hood struts, so dropping wouldn't work anyway.

Had the hood struts installed. They adjusted the latch and now it closes very easily. Much much better.
