Custom wood wine bottle holders made by Dave’s Wood Details. Made from solid hardwoods in my woodshop, these are elegant works of art that can be made to complement any decor. The bottom is branded with my logo as shown.


I can make these out of almost any wood(s). However, having small amounts of wood shipped is expensive, and I cannot look at grain patterns to select the best grains. For that reason, I would ask that you order from within woods I currently have in stock. I have plenty of maple, cherry, birch, beech, and oak.

IMO what looks best is a “standard” hardwood in the center such as maple, cherry, birch, beech, or oak, and a contrasting colored exotic wood on the outside, such as leopardwood or paduak. The first pic below shows maple center with leopardwood on the outsides as the item on the right, and the one on the left is maple outsides with a paduak stripe in the center. Currently the exotics I have are those two, although I do have some walnut also that would look nice with a lighter wood. I prefer using clear finishes to allow the true wood to show through, and since I use two different woods this usually works out best. I cannot stain two different woods two different colors because of the way these are made.

I’ve made about a dozen of these already and given some of them away as family heirloom gifts. I’ve included some additional pics of those I’ve made in the past.

These would make excellent Christmas or birthday gifts, especially for that wine lover that has everything. If you order one for which I have the wood in house, I can have them to you in about 3 weeks. The price shown below includes mostly a standard wood, with edges of one of my “in stock” exotic woods as mentioned above. For custom woods I don’t stock, we can discuss timing and pricing separately.

I will ship UPS, and shipping/handling is included in the price. Bottle of wine not included.

An optical illusion? Naw, just good old physics. I start these items by sandwiching some varied woods for dramatic effect.



Then I glue these up...they must be oversized. The reason for this is that it's impossible to get them lined up perfectly...so I will trim to the proper shape based on a template later.


Then I drill a hole. This is a bit tricky since the hole must be at a precise angle. I learned to use the line on the side along with a square to get this where I want.



Then it's just a matter of sanding smooth and finishing!


These are an excellent way to dress up a room....I have two of them in my newly finished basement.

which restaurant....I have 4....with 5 more on the way....LOL
let me see....110 tables....in 1 room....65 in another....44 in the other...and 38 in the last....so I would need 257 for now......they are sharp looking...in all seriousness how much could I get lets say 38 for..and how long would it take....PM me some info...I might use them in Floyds....

I think I may be need a few too - My wife has a birthday on Feb. 5th and wine is one of her favorite things. These are a classy looking way to display some of her....addiction (I mean collection).

I have a few exotics in the basement already, and this Friday I have a vacation day and will be on north side of Indy at the wood store, so I'll pick up a bit more while there so I have a bit better selection.
